Donate to Support Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation in Virginia

Wildlife rescue depends on compassionate volunteers, experienced rehabilitators, and the financial resources that make our work possible. As a fully volunteer-run nonprofit, Heart of Piedmont Wildlife Rescue relies on community donations to fund the transportation, treatment, and care of injured and orphaned animals across Virginia.

Every dollar you give helps support:

Operating Expenses: These include fuel and supplies for long-distance transports, safety equipment, and the administrative costs that keep rescue efforts running smoothly.

Wildlife Rehabilitators and Facilities: Licensed rehabilitators and hospitals rely almost entirely on wildlife rescue donations to cover food, medication, housing, and veterinary care.

Future Facility Development: Our long-term goal is to build a centrally located wildlife hospital to reduce transport times and improve outcomes for ill and injured animals across Virginia.

How Your Donation Makes a Direct Impact

Heart of Piedmont Wildlife Rescue cannot thrive without the generosity of compassionate donors like you. Wildlife rescue expenses add up quickly.

A baby opossum’s first feeding costs an average of $200 once you factor in formula, feeding supplies, caging, and heat support.
And rehab for an injured eagle can cost upwards of $3,000 for a single week!

Even smaller gifts make a tangible difference in the lives of the animals we save. Here’s how your donation supports our work:

$25

helps provide food and basic supplies for animals receiving care

$50

supports transportation costs for wildlife traveling long distances

$100

contributes to medical treatment and rehabilitation

$100

Helps relieve pressure on overcrowded facilities during peak season

You can give once or make a recurring monthly donation for an even bigger impact. Every dollar makes an impact.

Help Wildlife by Donating Supplies Instead

Donating supplies is another meaningful way to directly support wildlife care. This is a great option for families with children who want to participate.

Each season brings different priorities, but we’re always in need of:

Donate to Fund Life-Saving Rescues

Wildlife rescue is challenging, largely unfunded work. But with your contribution, more animals will have the chance to recover and return home where they belong.

All donations support current rescue needs unless otherwise designated.
This allows us to respond quickly as cases arise.
